Root Storia gathers your family's stories by emailing one thoughtful question at a time and saving the answers — text, photos, and voice — to a private archive only your family can see.

You're responsible for your account and for the people you add. By inviting a storyteller or family member, you confirm you have their permission to share their email address with us so we can send them questions and updates.

You and your family own your stories, photos, and recordings. You grant us only the permission we need to store, back up, display, and — if you order one — print them for you. We claim no ownership of your content and will never sell it.

Please don't use Root Storia to harass anyone, to upload unlawful content, or to send questions to people who haven't agreed to receive them. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or our email sending.

Your first story is free. Paid memberships — Family (billed yearly) and Forever (a one-time payment) — are processed securely by Stripe. New memberships come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can cancel anytime; cancelling stops future billing and questions, and your archive stays accessible according to your plan.

You can download your full archive at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data. We don't hold your memories hostage.

Root Storia is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep your stories safe and the service available, but we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months.

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post any changes here and update the date above.
